Michael Morpurgo Appreciation Post

Sunday morning I woke up to Sir Michael Morpurgo talking on BBC Radio 6 music with Cerys Matthews. He was my absolute favourite writer when I was a young child, and I still have all of my copies because they mean so much to me. It was very interesting to hear him talking about his literary work, his charity work, and the influence of nature. If anybody missed it then I would definitely recommend listening back to it because he is a very fascinating man (I've linked it here).

Penguin Read The Year: January 2018

As I said in the previous post, I swapped the months around and read the Feb book in Jan and the Jan book in Feb, I'll link here to first post where you can see the whole years prompts. But after this I will do it properly and follow the months I swear!

Anyway, January's prompt was new beginnings which is quite a broad subject so I picked a book that I've had for quite a few months that I've been meaning to get around to: The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.

Penguin Read The Year: February 2018

I know I'm a little late to this challenge, with it being already half way through February and I haven't technically started it, but what the heck. For those who don't know, Penguin books have set up a challenge for the year ahead in which you have to read something that fits with the prompt for that month. For example; January's prompt was Read about New Beginnings. There's a good mixture of prompt's so I think it will be easy enough to pick out some new books to fit with each month and just branch out with my reading a little!

Now that University is completely finished and I have free time (that should be going towards finding a job or getting fit again) I want to get lots of reading done that I've had to put off over the last few months, what with dissertation writing and essays etc... So I'm reading all the things I haven't allowed myself to and just getting back to enjoying literature for myself!

Wonderful Women // Post 8

To celebrate Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone being 20 years old I thought I would do a little wonderful women of the Harry Potter series sort of collection, starting with Emma. I know I should've started with JK but... I love Emma and this made me so happy to do!
